RAMSEY NAMED 3 ATTENTION RAMSEY RESIDENTS FIRE EXTINGUISHER EXCHANGE PROGRAM The Ramsey Fire Department is proud to announce that we have set up a fire extinguisher exchange program. The 1997 Uniform Fire Code requires that your fIfe extinguisher be inspected annually by a certified company. Because it is often hard to locate a company to service your extinguishers and they are often only open during your hours of business, we will be having Minnesota Conway come to our new fire station, located at 15050 Annstrong Boulevard, every Thursday to service the extinguishers on site. You will simply drop off your fire extinguisher on Thursdays between 2:00 and 5 :00 p.m. at this location and it will be serviced within two weel<s. While your extinguisher is being serviced, you may borrow an extinguisher from us by writing a checl< for $25.00 (the cost of the extinguisher) and we will hold the checl< and return it to you when the extinguisher is returned in the condition it was received. When the Service Technician arrives at the station, he will 1001< at your extinguisher to determine what type of service it will need. He will then perform the needed inspection, recharge, etc, on site and attached the bill to the extinguisher that you pay when you pick it up. The price is determined by the service your extinguisher needs and the size you have. Minnesota Conway will post a price list at the drop-off site for you to see. Because the City of Ramsey receives no profits for this service, we are excited to offer this program to you. REMINDER The City charges .30~ per page for copies to cover administration costs. TREE em USK Ramsey has been named a Tree City USA by the N ationalArbor Day Foundation. It is the twelfth year Ramsey has received this national recognition. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service. To become a Tree City USA, a community must meet four standards: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance. "Trees and their many benefits to our communities have never been more important," said John Rosenow, president of the National Arbor Day Foundation. "Proper tree planting and care today will help ensure cleaner, healthier, more tree-filled cities and towns tomorrow." "Tree City USA is a recognized standard of an effective community forestry program," Rosenow continued. "And the basis of such a program is a commitment to ongoing improvement and renewal."
