4 TOBACCO COMPLIANCE CHECK RESULTS ARE IN! The Ramsey Police department has been conducting monthly tobacco compliance inspections on all licensed tobacco retailers since February 2001. Fences shall be located such that they do not interfere with traffic visibility." NOTE: There is no reference as to setbacl< from the property line. Front yard fences can be a maximum of 4 feet in height. Side and rear yard fences are restricted to 8' in height and any fence over 6' in height requires a building permit. Plans must be submitted showing how the fence is to be constructed. RAMSEY WANTS YOU! The City of Ramsey is lool<ing for residents who are interested in participating in the development and governance of their community. From time to time, there are openings or vacancies on commissions and we need residents who are willing to get involved. People often tall< about wanting to get involved with their local government but fear that they don't have what it tal<es. Longfellow said, "No [one] is so poor as to have nothing worth giving." The City needs residents who have an interest in their community and who are willing to step forward to fill commission vacancies. Nothing more than an interest in the community and the ability to give some time in attending monthly meetings are required. This is an excellent way to meet other residents and to contribute in a very meaningful way to your community. There will be a number of guest speal<ers, lunch, and time for questions and answers. Topics will include defensive driving, information on senior services available in Anol<a County, first aid and ambulance service, seatbelt and car seat safety, senior scams, medical prescriptions and drug interactions, personal safety, 911 and fire safety. Even if you lmow something about these topics, there is so much more to learn. Plan now to join us at the Prairie Oal< Community Church on September 25th.
