If you attended,
you saw, and felt the patriotic displays.
American flags everywhere along the
parade route, the crowd standing for the
Color Guard, and an overall feel that
people did need to get our of their houses
and away from the T.V.'s for some
diversion. We were blessed with great
weather and another successful event.
A few highlights for you....
297 youth attended the
Teen Dance on Fri. night
80 cars attended the Classic Car Show
27 crafters displayed at the Craft Show
A 10 yr. old girl won the
Women's Division in the 5K Run
57 entries were in our parade
(St. Paul Winter Carnival Vulcans
even made an appearance!)
The Rockin' Hollywoods rocked
a crowd of 1,000+ people!
(and yes, they will be back next year!)
Alot of fun was had by all and we
received many positive comments. Plans
are already underway for next year's
events which will take place on Sept. 14
& 15th, 2002. There will be a parade again
next year, so mark your calendars to be
sure to get your entries started early. Great
prizes will be up for grabs so get creative!
Here's the Catch....
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! Our
committee is comprised of 10 dedicated
volunteers. However, they are in need of
3-4 more high- energy, creative, fun
individuals with leadership abilities. We will
begin meeting in November and generally
meet every 4 -6 weeks up until 6 weeks
prior to the event. Then our meetings are
scheduled more frequently. Since we don't
meet that often, our meetings generally run
2 hours in length. If you are interested,
Continued on Page 4
