The
Anoka County Board of Commissioners
is very interested in learning what
residents consider are the most
important health concerns in the
community.
Every four years Anoka
County conducts a community health
assessment to identify the county's
major health issues. The assessment
process includes gathering and
analyzing information from a variety of
sources and activities. A telephone
survey of adult residents was conducted
for the first time as part of the
assessment. Other information came
from focus groups and interviews with
residents and health care providers and
data from local, metro, state and national
sources. A public hearing was also held
to get ideas and comments from the
public.
Residents interested in reading
a copy of the Anoka County Community
Health Services (CHS) Plan — 2000-
2003 may see copies at their local
Anoka County library or call the
Community Health & Environmental
Services Department at 612- 422 -7030.
The CHS Plan is in two sections, the
81 -page Community Health
Assessment Document and the 50 -page
Program Plan. Summaries of the
sections will also be available.
