CITY NEWSLETTER
CITY IS HONORED FOR ITS
DEDICATION TO TREES
e t
On March 30, 2000, local city officials and forestry
professionals from the City of Ramsey gathered with representatives
from other Minnesota cities at the Golden Valley Country Club to be
honored for their achievements in enhancing the City's quality of life.
Honorees were presented with 1999 Tree City U.S.A. Awards.
This is the eleventh year that the City of Ramsey has received
this award and is considered one of an elite group of devoted cities
that have been officially recognized as a "Tree City ". The award is
given by the National Arbor Day Foundation, in cooperation with the
U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters
for outstanding efforts towards improving a community's value,
character, feeling of place and overall quality of life through the planting
and management of shade trees.
Several State officials attended the banquet, presenting
recipients with their Tree City U.S.A. awards. Being declared a "Tree
City" is a great achievement that reflects the dedication and hard
work by residents and city officials. The City of Ramsey is proud of
this honor and appreciates the partnership efforts of our community
toward maintaining and preserving Ramsey's community forestry
program. It is well known that trees add value to the City and residential
property, create and improve the landscape of our neighborhoods,
connect residents with urban wildlife and provide a legacy of mature
trees to the City for generations to come.
!/ S N
Co
00
MAY /JUNE 2000, VOLUME 15, NO. 3
CONGRATULATIONS
CLASS OF 2000!
The Mayor, City Council,
and City Staff would like to extend
their congratulations to the Area
Senior High Class of 2000 and wish
\ them a successful future.
V 6
ail
11
/$
RAMSEY LIONS
COMMUNITY PICNIC
SATURDAY JUNE 3, 2000
CENTRAL PARK
The Ramsey Lions would like to thank the
citizens of Ramsey for their continued support by
hosting their annual community picnic on Saturday,
June 3, 2000, at Central Park in Ramsey.
