This is a <br />great program that gradually prepares kids for school <br />and learning so that the first day isn't so scary. It is a <br />program that also encourages parents to participate <br />and become involved in their child's development. For <br />more information, please call the Anoka /Washington <br />County Head Start Program, 763 - 783 -4300. <br />LET THE YMCA <br />HELP You PLAN <br />YOUR SUMMER <br />The YMCA has lined up an action packed summer for <br />kids of all ages! Whether you need full -time child care for the <br />summer or are just looking to offer your child a week or two of <br />summer fun — the YMCA has a program that will fit your schedule. <br />YMCA Day Camp Guy Robinson is located at Lake <br />George Regional Park. Day camp is THE outdoor experience for <br />boys and girls entering 1" through 6th grade. Lake George offers <br />swimming, great fishing, and nature trails. Day Camp Guy <br />Robinson offers several Camp Programs to choose from: <br />Pioneer Camp is for kids in 1" — 6th grade. This Camp <br />gives you a chance to experience every aspect of camp — from <br />canoeing to archery, swimming and arts and crafts. <br />YMCA Day Camp also offers a variety of Specialty <br />Camps including: Fishing Camp, Canoe Camp, Archery Camp, <br />and Horse Camp. <br />The YMCA provides 10 local elementary school bus stops <br />to take the kids to and from camp each day. Extended care is also <br />available at the Northtown YMCA. Camp is offered in one -week <br />sessions starting June 19, 2000. <br />YMCA Summer Adventure Child Care is more than <br />just child care! Summer Adventure offers swimming, field trips, <br />arts & crafts, large and small group activities. Summer Adventure <br />is offered at the Northtown YMCA in Coon Rapids and is open <br />for kids in 1St 5th grades. Summer Adventure can work with <br />your summer schedule — sign up for one week or for all 11 weeks <br />of summer! <br />YMCA High Adventure is a NEW program especially <br />for kids entering 6th through 8th grade. Participants will have the <br />chance to take part in all kids of adventure including: rock climbing, <br />field trips, Valleyfair, swimming, and more. Extended care is also <br />available at the Northtown YMCA. YMCA High Adventure is <br />offered in one -week sessions throughout the summer. <br />Teen Trips are also available at the YMCA for kids 11 <br />years and older. Teen Trips will go on one -day trips to places <br />like Valleyfair, Camp Ihduhapi's Rope Course, Wild Mountain, <br />Taylors Falls, and more. These trips offer a chance to meet new <br />friends and take in some YMCA fun! <br />The YMCA builds strong kids, strong families, and strong <br />communities. YMCA membership is NOT required to participate <br />in these summer programs. The YMCA welcomes all who wish <br />to participate and annually raises scholarship dollars to help make <br />that possible.
