IMPORTANT! <br />IMPORTANT! <br />The Annual Election of Board <br />Members will be held on Tuesday, January <br />29, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. in the recreational building <br />at Central Park, located at 161" Avenue and <br />Armstrong Boulevard. The board positions <br />open for election are President, Treasurer, <br />Football Commissioner, Recreational Soccer <br />Commissioner, and Basketball Commissioner. <br />Other positions that are open are Concession <br />Stand Director and Sponsorship Director. We <br />are in great need of volunteers to fill these <br />positions. Please consider becoming a member <br />of the RYAA Board and attend this most <br />important meeting. <br />Registration for RYAA's 2002 <br />Spring /Supper traveling soccer, <br />recreational soccer, softball and baseball <br />programs (Yes — baseball in back in <br />Ramsey) will be held on the following <br />dates: <br />Thursday, February 7 <br />Wednesday, February 20 <br />Tuesday, February 12 <br />Saturday, February 23 <br />Final Registration Date — No Exceptions! ! <br />Saturday, March 2 <br />All registrations will be held in the <br />recreational building at Central Park. Sign -up <br />times will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for <br />the weeknight registrations, and 9:00 a.m. to <br />12:00 noon for the Saturday registrations. Descriptions of each <br />function are as follows: <br />Engineering is responsible for the construction administration <br />of public improvement projects, private improvement projects and site <br />developments in accordance with City standards and good engineering <br />practices. The department is also responsible for the special assessment <br />of public improvement projects. <br />Street Maintenance is responsible for the planning, organizing <br />and coordination of the maintenance of the City's streets. <br />Snow and Ice Removal is responsible for the effective removal <br />of snow and ice on City streets. <br />Public Works Budget: <br />2001 Budgeted Expenditures $ 937,909 <br />2002 Budgeted Expenditures $ 1,180,951 <br />Budgeted Positions 11.00 FTE's <br />Monthly Net Cost <br />For Average Home $5.18 <br />Parks and Recreation <br />Parks and Recreation consists of the following functions: Park <br />and Recreation, Community Programs, and Environmental Services. <br />Descriptions of each function are as follows: <br />Park and Recreation is responsible for the overall coordination <br />and administration, planning, development and maintenance of the City's <br />park system. <br />Community Programs is a joint venture with Anoka Hennepin <br />ISD #11 which provides for Community School programs. <br />Environmental Services administers the tree management <br />program including tree disease control, tree trimming and reforestation. <br />Park and Recreation Budget: <br />2001 Budgeted Expenditures $ 498,593 <br />2002 Budgeted Expenditures $ 589,508 <br />Budgeted Positions 9.09 FTE's <br />Monthly Net Cost <br />For Average Home $2.58 <br />Opportunities are often things you haven't noticed the first time around. — Catherine Deneuve <br />SENIOR INFORMATION LINE <br />JJ� <br />The Anoka County Senior Information Line is an information and <br />assistance program serving Anoka County residents. The program was <br />started in 1974 and connects Senior Citizens, their family members, as <br />well as agencies in Anoka County to the resources available in their <br />communities. For assistance call 763 - 783 -4707 between 9:00 a.m. and <br />4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The agency is located in the Blaine <br />Human Service Center at 1201 89th Avenue NE, Suite 100, Blaine, <br />MN. <br />
