(Billing services are <br />provided through Connexus Energy.) <br />State of Minnesota <br />Board of Electricity <br />ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS <br />FOR HOMEOWNERS <br />MADE EASY <br />5 <br />Generally, Minnesota Law requires <br />all electrical work to be performed by licensed, <br />bonded and insured electrical contractors and <br />their employees. Homeowners, within strict <br />limitations, are exempt from electrical licensing. <br />An owner is a natural person who <br />physically performs electrical work on <br />premises the person owns and actually <br />occupies as a residence or owns and will <br />occupy as a residence upon completion of <br />construction. <br />Minnesota Statutes 326.01, Subd. 6e. <br />Your building permit does not include <br />the inspection of electrical work. A separate <br />Request for Electrical Inspection form with the <br />required fees must be submitted to the Board <br />of Electricity at or before commencement of <br />any electrical installation that is required by <br />law to be inspected. Request for Electrical <br />Inspection forms can be purchased at City Hall. <br />Electrical Inspection in the City of <br />Ramsey are made by Ted Hagfors, 1- 320 -396- <br />2648. Inspectors are available weekdays only <br />between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. <br />General Fund Budget Continued from Page 3 <br />prescribed by State Statute and City Charter. <br />Administration is responsible for implementing policies and directives as established by the City Council. The <br />department is responsible for the administration of general or multi - department organizational activities and also provides for <br />the coordination of information to the public. In addition, the department coordinates all personnel functions. <br />Finance is responsible for the fiscal management, processing and maintenance of all accounting transactions for the <br />City. These include, but are not limited to, financial policies and procedures, audit, budget, borrowing and investment activities. <br />Assessing is contracted through Anoka County. The County is responsible for the equitable valuation and classification <br />of all properties within the City. <br />Legal accumulates expenditures associated with general and prosecution fees paid to legal counsel for all of the <br />City's legal affairs. <br />Planning and Zoning performs functions relative to land use, planning, development plan review, redevelopment, <br />economic development, zoning, and code enforcement. <br />Data Processing reports all computer- related costs, including maintenance and capital outlay for all of the City's <br />computer systems. <br />General Government Buildings is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and utilities for the operation of City <br />Hall. <br />Continued on Page 13 <br />This history of mankind is the history of ideas. — Ludwig von Mises <br />
