6 NEW IN TOWN COMMUNITY ACTIVITY SIGN RIVER'S BEND PARK PLAY EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT MAKES SURPLUS EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE Each of the past several years, the City has been attempting to replace one older, existing playstructure in Ramsey's parks with new equipment to meet the stringent Federal safety guidelines. (Often the old play equipment has been in place almost 20 years). As part of this process, City Council has declared the used play events surplus property — which then may be sold. The equipment may be suitable for back yard use or home daycares. River's Bend Park is the target for redevelopment this year. The new equipment is expected to be installed before May 1St, 2002. The City will be taking itemized bids for the unneeded play events until March 13, 2002. These include, exerglider with swings, modular wood structure with tire swing and slide, small tot wood structure with curly climber (the spring riders are not for sale). Persons wishing to submit a sealed bid for these items may pick -up a form at City Hall, or request a form by facsimile. Bids are due by 5:00 p.m. on March 13, 2002 at City Hall. Successful bidders will be notified following the March 14, 2002 Park and Recreation Commission meeting, which will be held at Fire Station No. 2 at 6:00 p.m. Transporting the equipment is the responsibility of buyers, but City staff may be available to assist with loading the equipment. To review the play equipment, travel two blocks east of T.H. #47, on 142nd Avenue, to the entrance of River's Bend Park. If you are a new resident of the City of Ramsey, please visit the Municipal Center, also known as City Hall, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to pick up a new resident packet and your recycling bin. We will sign you up for the recycling program at that time and provide you with information you may need regarding the City. The Municipal Center is located at 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, north of Ramsey Elementary School on the opposite side of the road. VOICE MAIL AVAILABLE AFTER HOURS AT CITY HALL The City of Ramsey's voice mail system allows residents the opportunity to leave a message at City Hall during non - business hours by calling 427 -1410 before 8:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. If you choose to leave a message, your call will be returned the following business day. This number should not be used for emergencies. CURFEW ORDINANCE In general, Ramsey's curfew ordinance makes it unlawful for juveniles to be in any public place in the City during the following times: Juveniles under the age of 12 1) Any time between 9 p.m. on any Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday or Thursday and 5 a.m. the following day. 2) Any time between 10 p.m. on any Friday or Saturday and 5 a.m. the following day. Juveniles ages 12 to 14 1) Any time between 10 p.m. on any Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and 5 a.m. the following day. 2) Any time between 11 p.m. on any Friday or Saturday and 5 a.m. the following day. Juveniles ages 15 to 17 1) Any time between 11 p.m. on any Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and 5 a.m. the following day. 2) Any time between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. on any Saturday or Sunday. Exceptions are allowed for young people who are in front of their own residence, with their parents, going to or coming from a place of employment, attending school or social functions, or on an errand for a parent. A copy of the entire ordinance can be obtained at the Ramsey Municipal Center during normal business hours. The curfew law is meant to keep young people out of trouble and out of danger.
