Saylor <br />SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2002, VOLUME 17, NO. 5 <br />2002 GENERAL <br />ELECTION CHANGES <br />During the November 7, 2000 election, Ramsey <br />voters approved amendments to the City Charter and voted <br />to increase the number of Councilmembers from four to six. <br />The amendment becomes effective with the 2002 election. <br />During the November 6, 2001 election, Ramsey <br />voters approved amendments to the City Charter to require <br />that four Councilmembers be elected from wards and two <br />Councilmembers be elected at large, which is effective for <br />the 2002 election. During the 2001 election, the voters <br />also approved amendments to the City Charter to require a <br />primary election for the selection of two nominees for each <br />elective office at the regular municipal election, unless two <br />nominees or fewer file for each elective office. The primary <br />election will be held on September 10, 2002. <br />The City of Ramsey is seeking Election Judges for <br />the 2002 General Election. Come and join us as we celebrate our <br />community and honor this year's Grand Marshalls, and <br />members of the Ramsey Fire Department. The Twin Cities <br />Metro Bagpipe Band and an official firefighters memorial <br />band will be on hand to perform as well as the Sparktacular <br />Drum Line. The parade starts at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, <br />September 14, 2002. It starts at Sunwood Drive and travels <br />north on Cty. Rd. #5, ending at Alpine Drive. <br />We have added many new events to this year's <br />Happy Days Festival so plan to come and spend the day <br />and stay and dance the night away with the Rockin' <br />Hollywoods.
