6 2003 GENERAL FUND BUDGET CONTINUED FROM PAGE 5 Street Maintenance is responsible for the planning, organizing and coordination of the maintenance of the City's streets. Snow and Ice Removal is responsible for the effective removal of snow and ice on City streets. Public Works Budget: 2002 Budgeted Expenditures $ 1,180,951 2003 Budgeted Expenditures $ 1,162,052 Budgeted Positions 11.00 FTE's Monthly Net Cost For Average Home $5.10 Parks and Recreation Parks and Recreation consists of the following functions: Park and Recreation, Community Programs, and Environmental Services. Descriptions of each function are as follows: Park and Recreation is responsible for the overall coordination and administration, planning, development and maintenance of the City's park system. Community Programs is a joint venture with Anoka Hennepin ISD #11 that provides for Community School programs. Environmental Services administers the tree management program including tree disease control, tree trimming and reforestation. Park and Recreation Budget: 2002 Budgeted Expenditures 2003 Budgeted Expenditures Budgeted Positions Monthly Net Cost For Average Home ACROSSE CLINICS $ 589,508 $ 584,351 9.09 FTE's $2.56 The Andover Area Lacrosse Association and the National Sports Center announces two indoor lacrosse clinics designed for area youth. Both clinics will run Saturdays January 11- February 8 at the National Sports Center. The Introductory clinic is from 8:00 am to 9:30 and is open to boys and girls ages 8-15. Only a lacrosse stick is needed for this clinic. The advanced clinic runs from 9:30- 11:00 and is open to boys only ages 10 -17. All advanced clinic participants need required lacrosse equipment to participate. Battistra FREE CABLE SERVICE FOR VIEWING LOCAL PUBLIC ACCESS CHANNELS All Ramsey City meetings (City Council, Planning Commission, etc.) are broadcast and replayed on local cable channel 16. This is a great way to stay informed. You can have access to the local public access channels (15, 16, 18 and 19) even if you do not subscribe to paid cable service; however, cable service must be available in your neighborhood. This service is called Universal PEG service. Universal PEG service is installed FREE of charge to one outlet (standard install, 200 feet or less) and there is no on -going fee if you have a cable ready television set. This service only includes the local public access channels, not local broadcast channels such as 4, 5, etc. AT &T installs an a/b switch that allows you to switch between your rooftop antenna for broadcast channels to the cable feed for the local access channels. If you wish service on more than one outlet, you pay full charge for the service on the additional outlet.
