<br /> <br />WANTED: <br />FIREFIGHTERS <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey currently has <br />several positions available for paid-on-call <br />firefighters. There will be an information session <br />held on Saturday, April 12, 2003, from 9:00 <br />a.m.-II :00 a.m. at Ramsey Fire Station I, <br />located on Armstrong Boulevard. The session <br />will provide information about the Ramsey Fire <br />Department, the role of the paid-on-call <br />firefighter, and provide an opportunity for you <br />to asl< any questions you may have in <br />considering becoming a part of the Ramsey Fire <br />Department. If interested, please contact City <br />Hall at 763-433-9830 to register for the <br />session. Attendance at this information session <br />is an essential part of the application process, <br />however your attendance does not require you <br />to continue in the application process. Spouses/ <br />significant others of the applicant are also <br />encouraged to attend this session. The Ramsey Housing Committee consists <br />of six residents and one ED A liaison; they meet the 3rd Thursday <br />of every month at 3 :30p.m. at City Hall. <br /> <br />The following Ramsey residents serve on the committee: <br />. Keith Kiefer is the EDA liaison for the housing <br />committee, he is a long time resident, and an <br />Engineering Consultant. <br />· Susan Anderson is a former City Council <br />member, served on the EDA, and has lived in <br />Ramsey since 1994. <br />· Suzanne Dvorak has lived in Ramsey since <br />1997 and has been an active resident serving on <br />the Environmental Policy Tasl< Force and citizen <br />group "Ramsey Residents for the Town Center." <br />· Michelle Osterhus is a 10-year Ramsey <br />resident, a Real Estate Agent, and is eager to be <br />participating on a local committee. <br />. Richard Kruger is a former maintenance <br />employee for District # 11, retired Building <br />Official, and has been a Ramsey resident for over <br />18 years. <br />· Mary Jo Olson is self employed, worl<ing in <br />marl<et analysis and research, and has lived in <br />Ramsey with her family for the past 10 years. <br />. Rick Thompson has been living in Ramsey for <br />4 years, is a Real Estate Agent, and has been a <br />Construction Project Manager for over 25 years. <br /> <br />The Ramsey Housing Committee's mission statement is <br />"To assist with promoting and preserving housing in the City of <br />Ramsey for households of all types and economic levels." After <br />only one meeting, the committee is eager to begin lool<ing at <br />demographic information pertaining to the City of Ramsey's <br />existing housing stocl<, provide recommendations on how to <br />preserve historical sites and lool< at new housing opportunities, <br />and obtain information on housing grants and low interest loan <br />opportunities for first time home buyers. In the next few months, <br />the housing committee will also be reviewing a Residential Housing <br />Maintenance Ordinance.
