While the
pace slows somewhat in the colder months, we continue to serve
the community. We distributed a large number offood basl<ets at
Thanl<sgiving and Christmas. We have contributed to families that
have suffered severe hardship or illness. We have provided partial
funding for two high school students participating in the People-to-
People International program.
We have donated to a number of charities including
Minnesota Lions Eye Banl<. The MLEB is a non-profit organization
largely funded by Minnesota Lions and affiliated with the University
of Minnesota's Department of Ophthalmology. The Minnesota
Lions Eye Banl< prevents blindness and restores vision by
recovering, processing and distributing donor eye tissue for corneal
transplants and by providing eye tissue for education and for
research.
We are well into planning the annual Ramsey Lions
Community Picnic. As always, this is the first Saturday in June
starting at noon at Central Parl<. Most of last years attractions will
be there, including the l<ids games, petting zoo, wellness van and
stage shows, all free! More details in the next Ramsey Resident
Newsletter and at our website www.RamseyLions.org.

CITY OF RAMSEY:
Mayor:
Tom Gamec
763 -421- 7 615
At Large

2003 Councilmembers:
Todd Cool( Al Pearson
763-241-0038 763-427 -8198
At Large Ward 3

David Elvig
763-323-7211
Ward 1

Patti Kural(
763-422-9843
Ward 4

Sarah Strommen
763-241-8395
At Large

Gerald Zimmerman
763-753-4387
Ward 2

RE-ROOFING
KE-SIDING PERMIT

The City Council has adopted fees for
inspections of re-roofing and re-siding worl< in
the City of Ramsey. The homeowner or contractor
must first obtain a permit for the worl<. Before
commencing either project, the homeowner
should read and follow the manufacturer's
installation instructions. Forre-roofing projects,
the City requires that photographs be tal<en after
the removal of existing roof material to show that
any new flashing, as well as ice and water barrier,
sheathing, etc., is in place. The photo should be
tal<en with single reflex, digital or polaroid camera.
No electronic version of the photograph please.
The photographs are to either be submitted to
the Building Inspection Department prior to the
onsite completion inspection, or may be placed
in a conspicuous location at the site. The
homeowner or contractor must phone City Hall
to schedule a completion inspection. No
photographs are required for re-siding. Again,
follow the installation instructions. The permit fee
is presently $40.50 for each. If you have any
questions, please feel free to call the Building
Department at 763-427-1410.

Every survival kit should include a sense of humor. - Anonymous
