Bailey has been hospitalized for several <br />months battling this disease. On Sunday, September 21 st, <br />despite the dismal weather, between 300-400 people <br />attended the fundraising event for Bailey. The final count <br />is not yet in, but we raised an estimated $10,000 for Bailey's <br />medical expenses. We would lil(e to express our gratitude <br />to you for helping to make Bailey's benefit a great success. <br />Fortunately, Bailey's immune system had improved <br />enough for her physicians to release her from the hospital <br />for just few hours so that she could come to see the carnival <br />and tal(e home some prizes. We cannot begin to tell you <br />how much this show of support means to Bailey's parents <br />and to her sister, Rachel. <br />The current economic climate has been difficult <br />for community businesses. We realize that each of you <br />receive many requests for help each month; we feel <br />privileged to live in a community where compassion takes <br />a front seat to personal concerns. <br />Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia is one of the <br />most rare and toughest types of leul(emia to fight. Bailey <br />has now completed two rounds of chemotherapy and still <br />faces spleen removal, a bone marrow transplant and at <br />least a year of blood transfusions following the bone marrow <br />transplant.
