CHILD FINGERPRINTING AVAILABLE By APPOINTMENT ONLY According to the National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Thrown away Children (October of2002), there are nearly 800,000 children reported missing each year (more than 2,000 per day). 58,200 children are abducted by non-family members while 115 children are the victims of the most serious, most long-term abductions. Precautionary measures include l(eeping a complete description of your child, taking color photographs every six months, l(eeping copies of your child's fingerprints, a sample of DNA, and maintaining medical records and dental charts. The Ramsey Police Department will be fingerprinting Ramsey children by APPOINTMENT ONLY on Thursday, April 8, 2004 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the police department. We use CompuKid, a digital fingerprinting and camera system. Parents receive a colored copy of their child's information as well as a disk that can be updated as neces- sary. Infants and children under two can be photographed only with fingerprints added at a later date. To schedule an appointment, call the Ramsey Police Department at (763) 427-6812. All scheduled appointments will receive information forms in the mail to complete and return to the police department no later than two weeks prior to the event date. PLEASE NOTE Due to the high volume of building in our community, the City requires at least two to three days notice for all building inspections and five to six days for building permit approval. Fall seven times, stand up eight. TREE SALE AND ENVIRONMENTAL EXPO SATURDAY, MAY 1,2004, 7 A.M. -1 P.M. The City of Ramsey and Ramsey Elementary School are partnering to bring you the 28th annual Tree Sale and 12th annual Environmental Expo along with a spring Arbor Day celebration. Local nurseries have been invited to have a wide selection of fruit, nut, shade trees, and shrubs available at sale prices. The size range includes: seedlings, potted and bare root saplings and large balled and burlap 2" diameter transplants. There will be an Arbor Day Program (10:00 a.m.) and tree planting (11 :00 a.m.) with the School Principal and City Mayor. Lyle Bradley will again lead a bird wall( for parents and children through the school nature area at 7:00 a.m. The tree sale begins at 7:00 a.m. and runs until 1 :00 p.m. Programs and exhibits are 8:00 a.m. to 1 :00 p.m. Ecology, Food, Farm, Wildlife and Biology are themes for this event. We welcome local nature artists, wildlife crafters and woodcrafters to demonstrate their hobby and display [for sale] their local home made art, toys, birdhouses, and utensils. Non profit organizations are also invited to introduce their organizations and their green mission.
