The risk of firearms, including related unintentional injuries or
deaths, can be reduced when firearms owners are aware of and
fully understand their responsibility to handle firearms safely and store
them in a secure manner. The goal of Project ChildSafe is to inform
and educate all firearms owners on safety issues and to provide kits
that include a gun lock.
To receive your free safety kit and gun lock, stop by the
Ramsey Police Department during normal business hours. We've
all seen or read too many heartbreaking stories about children finding
unlocked guns in their homes and using them as toys — with tragic
consequences. An unlocked gun is an invitation to tragedy. Please
take advantage of this opportunity to lock up all firearms by stopping
by to receive yours.
I've learned . . . That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
