Appointments: Laura Landes, Anoka County Sheriff's Office (763)767 -4664 FORFEITED VEHICLE NOW IN THE CITY'S FLEET On March 27, 2003, Ramsey Police Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 10. The female driver was subsequently arrested for DWI and possession of a controlled substance. An investigation found that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and the controlled substance cocaine. Her vehicle was seized per Minnesota State Statute 609.5314. In March, 2004, the female was convicted of Felony DWI involving a controlled substance. You may see a 1995 GS300 Lexus being driven by the Police Department's administration, as the vehicle from this incident was forfeited and is now part of our fleet. The Police Department seizes approximately ten vehicles a year from people who choose to use drugs or alcohol and drive. If you are caught, we may be driving your vehicle someday. FREE CHILD ID/FINGERPRINT CARD BY APPOINTMENT ONLY According to the National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Thrown Away Children (October of 2002), there are nearly 800,000 children reported missing each year (more than 2,000 per day). 58,200 children are abducted by non - family members while 115 children are the victims of the most serious, most long -term abductions. Precautionary measures include keeping a complete description of your child, taking color photographs every six months, keeping copies of your child's fingerprints, a sample of DNA, and maintaining medical records and dental charts. The Ramsey Police Department is offering FREE child ID/ fingerprint cards to Ramsey children by APPOINTMENT ONLY on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 from 9:00 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. at the Police Department. We are using a new program that will record a digital thumbprint, a digital picture and your child identifying information on a permanent card the size of a driver's license. To schedule an appointment, call the Ramsey Police Department at (763) 427- 6812. All scheduled appointments will receive information forms in the mail to complete and return to the police department no later than two weeks prior to the event date. I've learned . . . It will feature games, bingo, food, beverages, a petting zoo, pony rides, a skate park, live music with Boogie Wonderland, fireworks and much more.
