Summer is just around the comer and it's time to purchasing your 2004 Anoka Aquatic Center season pass! Weather permitting, the pool will open Memorial weekend. Pass holders receive priority admission for open swim, so there is no need to wait in the general admission lines. NEW for 2004: Season passes will be offered at a reduced rate to children under 42" tall. Residents of Ramsey will receive resident rate for season passes and swim lessons with proof of residency. Season passes can be purchased at the Anoka Parks and Golf Maintenance Building located at 641 Jacob Lane, behind Pizza Hut off of Highway 10. Season passes are available for purchase Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Season pass registration forms and swim lesson information is available on the City of Anoka web page at www.ci.anoka.mn.us. RAMSEY CITY RESIDENTS SOUGHT TO SERVE ON THE OFFICIAL MAP BOARD OF APPEALS 5 The City recently determined that the properties lying between Highway 10 and Burlington Railroad tracks, from the Ramsey/ Anoka border to Armstrong Blvd. N.W., are integral to the future improvement of the U.S. Highway 10 transportation system. These properties were identified on an Official Map and rezoned to H -1 Highway Business. The intent of the H -1 Highway 10 Business District is to allow for uses that minimize traffic, vehicular access, and facilitate orderly transition of the corridor while allowing the property owners the ability to utilize their property for economic benefit until such time as the U.S. Highway 10 transportation system improvements are initiated. Any land use applications for new construction, additions or remodeling on properties located in this H -1 District are subject to a review by the Planning Commission and approval of the City Council. In the event the City Council finds that the application does not meet the intent of the H- 1 District, the Council may deny the application. The Official Map ordinance provides that there shall be an Official Map Board of Appeals established for the purpose of reviewing appeals to land use applications that are denied by the City Council. The City of Ramsey is currently seeking nominees to serve on the on the City's Official Map Board ofAppeals. This Board shall consist of 5 members (1 Planning Commissioner and 4 Ramsey residents and /or business owners). Ramsey residents or business owners interested in serving on this Board are requested to submit a letter of interest /application to Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager, Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. Letters of application should contain the applicant's name, address, telephone number, work experience, education and any experience in municipal affairs. In addition, applicants should include a statement listing their reasons for seeking appointment to the Board.
