<br />ARC of Anoka and Ramsey Counties: Offers a network of support and
<br />information meetings for parents and grandparents of children with disabilities. Call

<br />Become a Family Mentor: A Family Mentor can be the person who develops a
<br />caring and trusting relationship with parents, while assisting them in connecting with
<br />community resources. Volunteers will be matched with a family based on location, interests
<br />and needs. Family Mentors receive a free 16-hour professional training session before
<br />being connected with a family. For more information and the next training dates, call the

<br />Free Breast Cancer Screening: Is available for qualifying women who are over
<br />40, meet the income requirements, and have no insurance to cover the cost of testing. Call

<br />Insurance Counseling: On Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Long

<br />Program (RSVP).
<br />Kinship: Matches young people, ages 5 to 15, with adult volunteers, individuals,

<br />Meals on Wheels: To request assistance or volunteer as a delivery driver, call

<br />Mediation Services: For Anoka County, offers a way to work through disputes
<br />using positive and respectful skills. Mediation is free or offered at a modest fee. Call 763-

<br />Muscular Dystrophy Support Group: Meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at
<br />7:00 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 14501 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey.

<br />North Metro Moms Club: Agroup
<br />of at-home moms and their children, has
<br />weekly outings, activity groups, monthly
<br />newsletters, playgroups, and mom's night
<br />out. Annual fee is $25, which can be reduced
<br />or waived if needed. Visitors are welcome to
<br />attend a month's worth of activities before
<br />deciding to join. Call Brenda Herman at 763-

<br />Nutrition Program: Newly
<br />expanded guidelines will allow pregnant/
<br />nursing women, infants and children up to
<br />age five to participate in the Anoka County
<br />Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for
<br />Women, Infants and Children (WIC). Call
<br />the Anoka County WIC Program at 763-422-
<br />7055 to apply and find out about WIC
<br />locations.
<br />Parent Support Network: First
<br />three Tuesdays every month from 7:00 to
<br />8:30 p.m. at Human Services Building, 1201 -
<br />89th Avenue, Blaine, Suite 380. Child care
