NEW AND BETTER
CITY INFORMATION
AND DOCUMENTS
AVAILABLE ON-LINE

Improvements are on the way for the City's website
www.ci.ramsey.mn.us.Alittle more than a year ago, the City initiated
a records management program to archive and store its documents and
records in an electronic format. To date, over 650,000 documents have
been scanned into the records management system. All of these
documents are text searchable and retrievable and include such
documents as Council and Commission agendas and minutes, Ordinances,
and Resolutions-just to name a few.
The next step in this technology is to make these documents
available on-line via our web site-providing our website users quicl(
and easy access to research and retrieve City documents. Currently,
limited numbers of documents are available on-line via a subscription
service. The City will be replicating the subscription service, which will
provide notification of new documents that become available on-line.
Current subscribers will be notified via email of the change in delivery of
the service. One does not need to subscribe, however, to browse our
site for needed information. The City anticipates having these
improvements completed in late November or early December of this
year. For more information, please contact the City's IT Manager, Dean
Busch at 763-433-9831 or dbusch@ci.ramsey.mn.us .
2005 CITY BUDGET
PREPARED PUBLIC HEARING
DECEMBER 6TH

The 2005 proposed budget was
reviewed by the City Council at several
workshops and meetings in August and
September, and on September 13th the City
Council approved the maximum 2005 City Tax
Levy and General Fund Budget. The levy, as
approved, would hold constant the City's tax rate
of approximately 37.4. This means that for every
property tax dollar, the City would receive $.37
with the remaining divided amongst Anoka
County and the school district. If your property
value, as determined by the County Assessor,
did not increase, your 2005 City property tax
would remain about the same as 2004 payable,
based on the constant tax rate. Keep in mind
that if your property value increased for taxes
payable in 2005, your tax will increase more due
to the increase in assessed value.
