WWW.CI.RAMSEY.MN.US.JAN/FEB.2005.VOLUME20.No. 1 <br /> <br />POLICE RESERVES <br />W ANTED <br /> <br />The Ramsey Police Department is accepting applications for <br />Police Reserve Officers. The police reserve unit consists of 15 <br />dedicated volunteers who operate in a non-sworn capacity assisting <br />the police department with uniformed preventative patrols, special <br />events and community policing details. They also perform many other <br />non-licensed duties as it relates to police work and public safety. <br />Applicants must be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma <br />and have a valid MN driver's license. Those applicants who pass the <br />oral interviews must then pass a thorough background investigation. <br />For an application pacl(et laying out additional requirements and <br />description of duties, call or stop by the Ramsey Police Department. <br />We are located behind City Hall at 15153 Nowthen Bvld NW. Application deadline is January 28, 2005 at 4:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />RAMSEY CITY RESIDENTS SOUGHT <br />TO SERVE ON CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey is currently seel(ing eligible nominees to <br />fill a vacancy on the City's Charter Commission. Ramsey residents <br />interested in serving on this Commission are requested to submit a <br />letter of interest/application to Jo Thieling, City Clerk, 15153 Nowthen <br />Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. Letters of application <br />should contain the applicant's name, address, telephone number, work <br />experience, education and any experience in municipal affairs. In <br />addition, applicants should include a statement listing their reasons for <br />seeking appointment to the Charter Commission. <br />The City will submit its list of eligible nominees to the Chief <br />Judge of the District Court who will mal(e the appointments to the <br />Charter Commission. Interested persons may also submit their <br />application directly to the Chief Judge who is the Honorable Gary R. <br />Shurrer and whose address is: Washington County Courthouse, 14949 <br />- 62nd Street N. - P.O. Box 6, Stillwater, MN 55082-0006. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />.-..~- <br /> <br />THE CITY OF RAMSEY BIDS A <br />FOND FARWELL TO FORMER <br />COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br />Former Councilmembers Gerald <br />Zimmerman and Patti Kurak were honored for <br />their service to the community and its residents at <br />the December 14th regular meeting of the City <br />Council. Mr. Zimmerman served on the City <br />Council from 1992 to 2004. He also served on the <br />Planning Commission from 1975 to 1992 prior <br />serving on the Council. Ms. Kurak served on the <br />City Council from 2001-2004. The Ramsey City <br />Council and staff wish them well in their new life <br />'after city council' ! <br />
