The police reserve unit consists of 15 dedicated volunteers who operate in a non-sworn capacity assisting the police department with uniformed preventative patrols, special events and community policing details. They also perform many other non-licensed duties as it relates to police work and public safety. Applicants must be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma and have a valid MN driver's license. Those applicants who pass the oral interviews must then pass a thorough background investigation. Application deadline is January 28, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. RAMSEY CITY RESIDENTS SOUGHT TO SERVE ON CHARTER COMMISSION The City of Ramsey is currently seel(ing eligible nominees to fill a vacancy on the City's Charter Commission. Ramsey residents interested in serving on this Commission are requested to submit a letter of interest/application to Jo Thieling, City Clerk, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. Letters of application should contain the applicant's name, address, telephone number, work experience, education and any experience in municipal affairs. In addition, applicants should include a statement listing their reasons for seeking appointment to the Charter Commission. The City will submit its list of eligible nominees to the Chief Judge of the District Court who will mal(e the appointments to the Charter Commission. Interested persons may also submit their application directly to the Chief Judge who is the Honorable Gary R. Shurrer and whose address is: Washington County Courthouse, 14949 - 62nd Street N. - P.O. Box 6, Stillwater, MN 55082-0006. .-..~- THE CITY OF RAMSEY BIDS A FOND FARWELL TO FORMER COUNCILMEMBERS Former Councilmembers Gerald Zimmerman and Patti Kurak were honored for their service to the community and its residents at the December 14th regular meeting of the City Council. Mr. Zimmerman served on the City Council from 1992 to 2004. He also served on the Planning Commission from 1975 to 1992 prior serving on the Council. Ms. Kurak served on the City Council from 2001-2004. The Ramsey City Council and staff wish them well in their new life 'after city council' !
