<br />~ <br /> <br />Public Notice <br /> <br />New Recycling Contract with <br />ACE Solid Waste <br /> <br />The city and ACE Solid Waste <br />have agreed to a new, five-year con- <br />tract for the curbside collection of <br />recyclables. The new contract includ- <br />ed converting from the existing <br />two-sort collection system to a sim- <br />ple-sort collection system that will be <br />implemented in April and/or May. <br />The new system does not require any <br />separating of materials and all <br />acceptable materials can be placed <br />directly into the cart! Residents <br />should be receiving a new recycling <br />cart, which will be delivered by ACE <br />Solid Waste, sometime over the next <br />month or so. The cost per household <br />per month for 2006 is $2.44. In 2007 <br /> <br />and 2008, the rate per household per <br />month will be $2.90 and $2.95, <br />respectively. We <br />have been unable to secure the services of a veterinarian for the event. <br />However, during the month of May, the Ramsey Police Department will be pro- <br />viding dog and cat licenses at no charge. <br />Dog and cat licenses are good for two years, or until expiration of the <br />pet's rabies vaccination. You can obtain your free license at the Ramsey Police <br />Department, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm, during the month of <br />May. You must provide a copy of your pet's current rabies vaccination at that <br />time. <br />City Ordinance requires that all dogs and cats over six months of age be <br />licensed. Licensing helps us identify found pets and return them to their own- <br />ers. The Primary Election is on <br />Tuesday, September 12, 2006, and the <br />General Election is Tuesday, <br />November 7,2006. The rate of pay is <br />$9.00 per hour.
