COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case A: <br /> <br />License Approval <br /> <br />Police Ch ief Way expressed concern over the application fora peddler/solicitor license for an ice <br />cream truck submitted by Anoka Blaine Ice Cream. He explained that in doing a check on the <br />business at their own Police Department they found a case involving the applicant and upon <br />t'urther review discovered two additional instances in the City of Blaine pertaining to the <br />applicant. Based on that information, he recommended that the Council either delay action for <br />further review or deny the application. <br /> <br />Mayor Game< inquired if the Police Chief felt that it was better to review the application further <br />o1' does the information before them warrant denial of the application. <br /> <br />Police Chief-' Wa5' replied that lac was not sure what more <br />recommelqcled that tine City lq_Ct approve tine permit at this time. <br />with the denial of the application that can be brought forward. <br /> <br />he could do; therefore, he <br />[f the applicant has a concern <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman suggested that the Council approve the Gas and Cigarette license <br />and delay action on the other application until tlney have time to review the information. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that if Chief \Vay is recommending not approving the application he <br />would tend to go with that recommenctation, <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councitn-~ember Cool<, to approve the Gas & <br />Cigarette License application submitted by Almaden Soft, Inc. DBA Hot Stop and deny the <br />Peddler/Solicitor License submitted by Anoka Blain Ice Cream. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Coul'~cilmember Kurak agreed that based on the information provided they <br />should decline the application. Councilmember Cool< stated that they have to be especially <br />cra'cad when someone is dealing with children. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Game<, and Councilmembers Elvig, Cool<, Kurak, Pearson, <br />Strommcn, andZinqmerman.
