The public hearing closed at 7:44 p.m. <br /> <br />Ce.nell Action <br /> <br />Tine regular meeting of the City Council was called back to order at 7:44 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmen~tber Pearson inquired as to why the holding pond would not be constructed on the <br />trailer park property. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that the sketch in the plan was looking at some possible areas <br />[~or expansion and, at the time, staff was completing the feasibility study, the area suggested for <br />expansion was ~lot being used. Obviously there would need to be negotiations between the two <br />property owne~'s, which cio not seem feasible at this time. He noted that there is the possibility of <br />constructing a pond on tile trailer park site. Staff will need some direction fi:om the property <br />ow~ers prior to proceeding with the project. <br /> <br />Councilmembe~' St~'ommen inquired i£it was possible to look at some of the olhe~' options. <br /> <br />City Engineer ,lankowski replied that at this point the petitioner needs to research what some of <br />the options are. One of those options may be to not address the storm sewer issue, but it is staff's <br />recommendation that stm'm sewer is addressed as part of the project. <br /> <br />Cotmcilmember Strommen inquired as to what would happen if they don't address tile storm <br />sewer issue. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowsl<i explained that currently the water drains in four directions and there are <br />a series of dry wells. The water remains in the well to the north near the railroad tracks for <br />sometime. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich inquired if the City has an existing drainage easement over the pond on <br />the SunJ~sh Commons property. <br /> <br />C ily Engineer Jankowsl<i replied yes. <br /> <br />City Atlomey ~Joodficb replied that the City could legally direct water in_to the Sunfish <br />Commons pond since there is a drainage and utility easement over the pond. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated that it was his understanding that the existing pond would not <br />handle tile water ~br both properties so the pond would have to be expanded. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that the pond may need to be enlarged.
