270 <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Political Signs posted by a candidate for political office, or by a person or <br />group promoting a political issue or a political candidate may be placed in any district. Political signs <br />are limited to thirty-two (32) square feet in area and such signs shall be removed within seven (7) days <br />following the election. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Garage Sale and Craft Sale Signs. Advertising and directional garage <br />and craft sale signs are limited to six (6) square feet and shall be of the free-standing type only. Garage <br />and craft sale signs shall be placed on private property only and shall have the property owner's <br />permission. All such sale signs shall be removed within twenty-four (24) hours after the completion of <br />the sale. A fixed fee, as established by City Council, per sign not removed within 24 hours following <br />the completion of the sale will be charged and said charges will be used to defray the cost of removal by <br />the City. Garage and craft sale signs shall identify the dates of the sale, name, address and telephone <br />number of the sign owner. <br /> <br /> Subd. 4. Construction Signs identifying the parties involved in the construction to <br />occur or occurring on the parcel may be installed upon a construction site in any district, provided such <br />sign does not exceed eighty (80) square feet in commercial, industrial and multi-family districts and six <br />(6) square feet in single family residential districts. There shaIl not be more than one (1) temporary <br />construction sign for each project or development, except that where a project or development abuts two <br />(2) or more streets, additional such signs, one (1) oriented to each abutting street, shall be permitted. <br />Tempot:ary construction signs shall be located only upon the legally described parcel on the building <br />permit. Temporary construction signs are exempt from the permit and fee requirements but shall be <br />allowed only as accessory to an approved building permit for a project or development. Temporary <br />construction signs may be erected and maintained for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days prior to the <br />commencement of construction and shall be removed within fourteen (14) days of the issuance of the <br />certificate of occupancy. A fixed fee, as established by City Council, per sign not removed within the <br />fourteen (14) days will be charged and said charges will be used to defray the cost of removal by the <br />City. <br /> <br />Subd. 5. Real Estate Signs <br /> <br />Temporary real estate signs may be erected for the purpose of selling, promoting or <br />leasing a residential project of four (4) or more dwelling units or any non-residential <br />project. Temporary real estate signs for the purpose of leasing, selling or promoting <br />a residential project or any non-residential project are: <br /> <br />Exempt from the permit and fee requirements but shall be allowed only as <br />accessory to an approved subdivision plat or site plan; <br /> <br />2.
