Within a location where emissions of air pollutants would <br />violate the ambient air quality standards in parts 7005.0010 to <br />7005.3060. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />In areas where there are karst features; such as sinkholes, <br />solution channels, disappearing streams, and caves, which may <br />cause failures of the leachate management system or prevent <br />effective monitoring or containment of a release of leachate; <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />In areas where there are other unstable soil or bedrock <br />conditions that may cause failures of the leachate management <br />system; or <br /> <br />Where an airport runway used or scheduled for use by turbojet <br />aircraft is located within 10,000 feet of the waste boundary, or <br />an airport runway used or scheduled for use by piston type <br />aircraft only is located within 5,000 feet of the waste boundary, <br />unless approval is obtained from the Federal Aviation <br />Administration. <br /> <br />Within 1,000 feet of the nearest edge of the right-of-way of any <br />state, federal or interstate highway or of the boundary of a <br />public park or of an occupied dwelling. <br /> <br />9. Within 500 feet of any known source of groundwater <br /> contamination or any other known source of pollution. <br /> <br />10. An area where groundwater is contaminated or lies within the <br /> path of the migration of contaminated groundwater. <br /> <br />9.14.07 Required Buffer Area and Screening for Landfill Sites. The distance <br />between an operational landfill and other land uses is critical in avoiding scenic blight, <br />land use compatibility, reduction of land values and nuisances from odor, dust, noise, <br />vibration, etc. Therefore, the following standards shall guide the review and issuance of <br />conditional use permits. <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. Suitable buffer areas, berms, barriers and vegetation shall <br />be provided to minimize noise, odors, landfill gas migration, public safety, nuisances and <br />other impacts on adjacent properties. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Buffer area is considered suitable if there is a separation distance <br />of 1,000 feet between a residence and any part of the site where landfill activity is <br />proposed to take place. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Suitable berms, barriers and vegetation shall screen the landfill <br />activity area year 'round from property within one (1) mile of the landfill Site.
