The gross surface area of a wall, canopy or marquee sign may be increased by ten percent (10%) if such wall sign: Consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric and/or symbolic characters without background except that provided by the building surface to which the sign is to be affixed; and ii. Illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, shielded silhouette lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any lighting where the light source is visible or exposed on the face or sides of the characters. 111. ' A wall, canopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal building but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches from the wall to which the sign is to be affixed. A wall sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to which the sign is to be affixed. Ground Sign. There shall not be more than one (1) ground sign for each parcel. The gross surface area of a ground sign shall not exceed one hundred (I00) square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an aggregate gross surface area of two hundred (200) square feet. Service Bay Identification Signs. Service bay identification signs providing direction or instruction to persons using the facility and containing no advertising material of any kind shall be subject to the following: All service bay identification signs shall be wall signs. ii. There shall not be more than one (1) service bay identification sign for each smMce bay located on the parcel. iii.
