o To avoid overbuilding. The development of excess housing units (condos) appears to
have saturated the market and caused values to drop. See no need to rush to over
expansion. Maintain access (street expansions) to support the increased traffic.
o Avoid the creation of high density housing projects.
o Owner occupied property preferred.
o Quit building so damn many new housing developments. This is suppose to be a
rural community. Quite "stealing" peoples'land and businesses to build more
shopping centers you cannot fill!
o More single family large lot housing.
o I am in favor of less development. Minnesota has always been great at developing
everything, but then ask, how do we get to and from? We need a crackdown on all
the junk collectors within the City of Ramsey.
o Listening to people who live here and vote for Ramsey positions. Don't let money
lead the way.
o Traffic on Highway 10 and 169 is really bad on Thursday and Friday, especially
going north. Housing development could aggravate that already bad situation.
Housing development evaluation should include its effect on surrounding traffic
arteries.
o Upgrade existing neighborhoods without tearing them down to build townhomes so
the city can gather more taxes. Limit low income housing.
o Less government & lower property tax! By the amount of our property taxes have
gone up the last few years you obviously need money, so lets not try to get more low
income people here we have to subsidize!!
o The development of Ramsey has gone too big too fast too much city size lots - more 1
acre lots.
o #3- What's wrong with keeping the rental rate as low as possible? What is wrong with
less than 3% rental? #4 -Why not incourage as many people as possible to actually
own - if they own it they will take more pride in their property & respect others. #6 -
If people don't like what is next to them when they move in they shouldn't move there
in the fIrst place. #7 - see response to #3. #8- Let the free market decide what is
important. Weare not far from aundant amenaties in either Coon Rapids or Elk
River. #9 - I you already live in Ramsey you obviously have a home or place to live.
If you want to live here you should work hard and earn the ability to live here. # 1 0 &
#11 - "Affordable Housing" is a buzz word that always seems to end up meaning
well, but what is usually brings is lazy dishonest people to the city. They bring down
the rest of the area distorting trust in others, unable to maintain what was given them
and unwilling to part with their trash they directly contribute to blight. Hence the
need for IIcommunity re-developmentll. #12 Ifpeople want to individually help
someone out or make additional money on their investment why not? #13 -People
that work hard have obviously achieved the means to afford better will definitely
work hard to keep their neighborhoods nice, safe & well maintained. They will also
improve the appeal of the city to other like minded people. Bring more of the same
attitude to the city. If you worked hard and were able to afford a home and life threw
you a curve ball, it might be nice to get some help, however, is this really the job of
the city? Perhaps it's best handled by relatives, charity & the free market. #15 & #16
see #3. I own rental property and most people that I have rented to have reasons why

13
