The proposed single -lane
roundabout, paired with pedestrian crossing and connectivity enhancements, will help reduce crashes, calm
vehicle speeds, and create safer multimodal access for residents, businesses, and visitors. These improvements
align with HSIP goals to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes and to improve safety for people outside of vehicles.
The City understands the project is being submitted for State Fiscal Years 2030-2031. If selected, the project will
be incorporated into Anoka County's Highway Improvement Plan for the awarded year, and the City will
collaborate with the County on next steps. This includes entering into a joint powers agreement outlining cost
participation, coordination responsibilities, and long-term maintenance commitments.
We value our ongoing partnership with Anoka County and fully support advancing this important safety project.
Sincerely,
Brian Hagen
City Administrator
It is our mission to work together to responsibly grow our community, and to provide quality, cost-effective and efficient government services.
