5. 2. <br />Environmental Policy Board (EPB) <br />Meeting Date:07/20/2026 <br /> <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Environmental Policy Board Participation at the Farmers Market <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to solidify the date that the Environmental Policy Board (EPB) will staff a table at the <br />Farmers Market this summer. Based on responses from EPB members, it appears that August 11, 2026, is the <br />date that works for most members. The purpose of this case is to provide the EPB with time to discuss what <br />topics/resources would be preferred for the table. Staff will be responsible for compiling the resources. Staff will <br />have a compost bin for display, an organics recycling starter kit, information about curbside organics recycling, <br />information about both oak wilt and emerald ash borer, and approximately 100 native wildflower seed packets to <br />hand out. Staff could also print out a limited number of coloring 'books' that feature Minnesota native birds, if the <br />Board would like. If there are additional topics and/or resources the Board would like to have available, this <br />would be the time to let Staff know.
