<br /> <br />7.04: Adopt Ordinance #26-09 Amending City Code Section 106-354 (Private Trees in <br />New Development Areas) <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hanson presented proposed amendments to the City's tree <br />preservation ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to Adopt Ordinance #26- <br />09 Amending City Code Section 106-354 (Private Trees in New Development Areas) <br /> <br />A roll call vote was performed: <br /> <br />Councilmember Buscher aye <br />Councilmember Riley aye <br />Councilmember Stewart aye <br />Councilmember Olson aye <br />Councilmember Specht aye <br />Councilmember Peters aye <br />Mayor Heineman aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br />7.05: Introduce Ordinance #26-14 Authorizing Salary Increase for Mayor and City <br />Council <br /> <br />City Administrator Hagen presented the proposed ordinance updating compensation for the <br />Mayor and City Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Peters, to Introduce Ordinance <br />#26-14 Authorizing Salary Increase for Mayor and City Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buscher said the Council discussed the proposal extensively during a work <br />session. She noted that serving on the Council requires significant time commitment and <br />responsibility, and she believes compensation should not discourage qualified residents from <br />serving. She said the proposed increase would bring Ramsey's compensation more in line with <br />neighboring cities while helping ensure the position remains accessible to a broader range of <br />community members. <br /> <br />Councilmember Specht said he does not believe the proposed compensation increase is <br />unreasonable, particularly since Council pay has not been adjusted since 2005.
