Mr. Derek Lind addressed the Council regarding election equipment used by Anoka County. He
distributed information concerning the federal certification status of electronic voting tabulators,
stating that the machines had allegedly lost federal certification because of installed modems. He
encouraged Councilmembers to review the documentation, contact Anoka County regarding the
issue, and continue efforts to promote confidence in the election process. He also thanked the
City for previously supporting expanded post -election hand counting of ballots.
Ms. Jan Johnson, 8872 175th Lane Northwest, addressed the Council regarding the possibility of
future data center development within Ramsey. She asked whether residents would receive
notification and have an opportunity to provide input if a proposal were submitted.
City Administrator Hagen explained that data centers are currently permitted within certain
zoning districts. Still, the City is actively reviewing its zoning regulations in light of recent
activity occurring in neighboring communities. He noted that public notification requirements
depend upon the type of land use application submitted and advised that ordinance revisions
would likely return to the Council for future discussion.
Ms. Johnson also complimented the City's new splash pad facility.
5.
