For many years we were <br />able to sway business people to choose the city of Ramsey because it was less expensive to <br />operate a business due to lower real estate taxes, electrical costs and a good source of man power <br />north of the river that did not want to commute across the Anoka bridge twice a day during rush <br />hour. Most of our vacant space was in Hennepin County. Now our vacant space is in Ramsey <br />and I didn't know why until my office staff pointed out that the gross rent in Ramsey is now <br />higher than Hennepin County with taxes and CAM charges. These things often slip through the <br />cracks unnoticed and respectfully, also may have gone unnoticed by the staff and council as well. <br />It has always been our intention to help the city of Ramsey grow and we have received much <br />help from staff and council. The incubator spaces which we are mostly involved with, have <br />nurtured many small business firms who have in turn. grown into larger single tenant buildings in <br />Ramsey such as: Detail Tool and Engineering, Listul Corporation, Digital Automation, Integrity <br />Tool and Engineering, Carbon Products, InTech Industries, RJM General Paper, Building <br />Fastners, Soderholm and Associates, TJ and Associates and others. Some of these as well as <br />others we lease space to are looking to expand and they will all do their homework before <br />choosing a site.
