Councihnember Kurak inquired as to why a water softener would not correct the problem.

Councihnember Anderson noted that a water softener would work if the fight type of pellets are
used.

City Engineer Olson noted that the water is safe. He stated that Bolton & Menk provides
services for the City wells so staff could discuss the issue with them to get their opinion.

Mayor Gamec requested that staff get a sample of the water from Ms. Hunter's neighborhood and
have it tested.

Councilmember Anderson inquired if it would be beneficial for the City of Ramsey to formally
request that Anoka prohibits left tums along Ferry Street.

Councilmember Hendriksen replied that that issue was brought up during a joint meeting with
Anoka and their response was that MnDOT would not allow that. After that meeting he then
found out that that statement was not true.

Mayor Gamec stated that a meeting with the Mayors of Anoka and Andover is being scheduled
and he will make sure that item is placed on the agenda.

Councilmember Anderson stated that the City needs to have a better understanding of the Rum
River dam before any improvements are needed, because an argument could be made that the
dam does not only benefit Anoka.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion by Councihnember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to approve the
agenda as presented.

Motion carried.
