Planning Manager Larson presented the staff report stating that staff recommends approval of the <br />Zoning Text Amendment related to the use table and noted that the remainder of the changes will <br />come back to the Commission at the next meeting. <br />Chairperson Gengler appreciated the effort to make things more consistent across City Code. <br />Planning Manager Larson stated that the COR Framework will stay as the vision document. <br />Commissioner Musgrove asked about the purpose of the orange text. <br />Planning Manager Larson explained that staff has been using this format in the revisions and <br />explained the purpose of the different colors. <br />Citizen Input <br />No comments. <br />Motion by Commissioner Lubarski, seconded by Commissioner Allshouse, to close the public <br />hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Gengler, Commissioners Lubarski, Allshouse, Bauer, <br />Cochrane, Musgrove, and Sanoe. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br />Chairperson Gengler closed the public hearing at 7:22 p.m. <br />Commission Business <br />Commissioner Musgrove asked if anything is being changed from the COR standards or whether <br />they are just making it easier to read and understand. <br />Planning Manager Larson explained that some uses are proposed to be added, such as a <br />veterinarian clinic. <br />Commissioner Musgrove stated that she supports the veterinarian clinic but was unsure that she <br />would like to see more banks or event centers rather than additional retail uses. <br />Planning Manager Larson explained that some of these changes would fix a few things, as there is <br />already an event center that exists within The COR and a bank has also recently been approved. <br />He stated those could also be legal nonconforming uses. <br />Commissioner Musgrove asked if those two items should be listed in the area they exist rather than <br />opening them to all areas of The COR. <br />Planning Manager Larson provided additional information on the locations within The COR where <br />those uses exist and noted that staff did not see an issue opening up more land for business <br />opportunities.
