We understand that currently the city currently <br />has concerns regarding the placement of signs in the public right of way. We feel that <br />this entrance monument is designed to address these concerns. The proposed monument <br />will bejlaced such that it will be out of the field of vision for motorists at the intersection <br />of 170 Ave. and C.S.A.H.. 5 and will not hinder the field of vision to see and avoid <br />pedestrian traffic. Also, the location of the proposed monument has been approved <br />Anoka County Highway department; as such we feel that this location will not be . a <br />liability to any sanctioned traffic at this intersection. Any issues that arise with the sign <br />itself, such as maintenance and repair, will be taken care of by the homeowners <br />association of Brookfield Addition. The "association is already responsible for the <br />maintenance of the landscaping in the roundabout, entrance berms, and median that the <br />sign will be placed in and therefore it can be assured that the minimal amount of added <br />duties associated with the sign will not be neglected. In addition, considering the <br />proposed layout of the" entrance of the site, the snow would likely be plowed to the right <br />side of the road; the phicemerit of the sign in the middle of the median therefore would <br />not interfere with snow storage. In the event that snow is to be stored in the median, the <br />home owners association would incur that obligation. <br /> <br />We have not invested in the engineering of this sign as far as structural stability is <br />concerned as the proposed location and design is still in question.
