Staff met with David
Piggott and discussed options for this event. Anoka County Partners has agreed to finance the
speaker and associated costs, such as travel, food and lodging while the speaker is in town. Staff
is working on securing more dollars for costs associated with the invites and catering.

Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan indicated staff has researched the logistics of the
Alexander Ramsey Room and it should accommodate the needs. The room has a capacity of 100
for an event of this type and it can be set up for large pods that will allow for face-to-face
contact. Well's Catering, if chosen by this body, will be contacted once the date is secured to
cater the event. Ramsey Rotary has also expressed interest in partnering with the Business
Connection Meeting. Mr. Sullivan advised staff proposes the event be financed as follows:

Anoka County Partners: Speaker and all associated marketing costs
Ramsey Rotary: Cost of food and beverages (100 people)
Ramsey EDA: Invitations (Approximately 300-400)

Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan distributed a possible list of speakers for
consideration by the Board. He suggested the Board consider the following topics for the event:
transportation; business climate; regional trends; image; redevelopment.

Economic Development Authority/January 11, 2007
Page 2 of 11
