Interim City Administrator Nelson indicated the report will be posted on the City web site and will be put out to the In the News subscribers. It will also be noted in the Ramsey Resident that the report is available online. The February 27th City Council meeting will include a Power Point presentation that highlights the high points that occurred in 2006. Councilmember Elvig suggested terms such as TIF include a definition for residents that may not be aware of the meaning. Councilmember Strommen suggested the slides used during the Council Strategic Planning Session that showed the goals and the status be incorporated into the presentation. Management Intern Gladhill suggested the Power Point presentation that will be presented at the February 27th City Council meeting be posted on the City website. Consensus of the Council was to direct staff to incorporate the above suggestions in the Power Point presentation, and topost the presentation on the City website. 2) 2007 - Five-Year Goals & Strategic Plan Interim City Administrator Nelson reviewed that Council conducted a Strategic Planning/Goal Setting Session on January 19th and 20th and established the Five Year Goals and specific performance points to be addressed during 2007-2008. The 2005 Five Year Goal document, which was used as a basis for the discussion, has been revised to reflect the direction from the recent goal setting session and is attached to Council's case/agenda for Council review. The minutes from the January 19/20 sessions are included in the regular Council agenda packet for Council consideration this evening and for reference in reviewing the 2007 Five Year Goals document. Based on Council discussion, staff will revise the goals in preparation for adoption at the February 27,2007 City Council meeting. The goals will also be posted on the City website and it will be noted in the Ramsey Resident that the document is available on the website. Councilmember Strommen requested Communication be added as a goal as discussed during the Strategic Goal Session. She noted during the Goal Session it was discussed that this goal would be worked out further in a work session. 3) Discussion of Executive Search Firm Contract Human Resources Manager Reed Kone reviewed that at the February 6, 2007 work session, the City Council interviewed four executive search firms for the recruitment and selection of a new city administrator. The four firms interviewed were Personnel Decisions International, Sathe Executive Search, the Waters Consulting Group, and Mercer Group. The consensus of the Council was to further explore hiring the Waters Consulting Group. Ms. Reed Kone indicated she sent out the proposal from Waters Consulting Group to all Councilmembers to review for questions and concerns. She followed up on two issues with Waters Consulting Group. They have confirmed that Andrea Sims would be the lead contact for the City and for any applicants. The second issue was sent by Councilmember Elvig by email to the group; he requested that the City Council Work Session / February 13, 2007 Page 2 of 6
