<br />~ <br /> <br />Community News <br /> <br />Head Start <br /> <br />Head Start is a quality preschool program for children birth to <br />five years old and their families. There is NO COST to families who <br />participate in the program. Families must meet income guidelines. Any <br />family enrolled in the MFIP program, including child care assistance, and <br />SSI, and foster children are eligible even if their annual income exceeds <br />the current guidelines. Head Start focuses on the child's physical, intel- <br />lectual, emotional and social development while providing advocacy for <br />parents. Head Start serves children and their families of any race, color, <br />creed, national origin, and special needs. It is fun, educational, and FREE <br />to eligible families. <br />For more information and to obtain an application call the Anoka/ <br />Washington County Head Start program at 763-783-4300. <br /> <br />Free Dollars Into <br />Sense Class <br /> <br />Anoka County Extension Service Staff and Dollar Works Volunteers will <br />present Free Dollars Into Sense classes on January 16 and February 20 at <br />10:00 am at the Bunl(er Hills Activities Center (550 Bunker Lal(e Blvd, <br />Andover) and again at 7 :00 pm at the N orthtown Library (711 County Rd <br />lONE, Blaine). To register, call the University of Minnesota Extension <br />Service, Anoka County, at 763-755-1280 at least three days prior to the <br />class you wish to attend. Classes will cover budgeting and address credit <br />issues, tracking expenses, making a spending plan, goal setting and how <br />to get help. <br /> <br />Articles contained on these pages and other areas of this newsletter are for the <br />purpose of providing i'1formation about events or initiatives occurring in, or bordering, <br />the Ramsey community.
