Case #3: Review and Adopt 1999 Schedule of Rates, Fees, and Charges <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to <br />change park dedication for resident - rural from $650 to $750, Cash - urban from $875 to <br />$975 and land from 10% gross land area + $875/dwelling unit to 10% gross land area + <br />$975/dwelling unit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, <br />Beahen and Haas Steffen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Mayor Gamec to recommend Council <br />adopt the resolution adopting the 1999 Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Haas <br />Steffen and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Request for Participation in a Home Improvement & Remodeling <br />Fair; Case of City of Ramsey <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sherman stated that the City of Anoka is planning to <br />have a remodeling fair and has contacted all the cities in the Anoka Area Chamber of <br />Commerce. These cities include Andover, Anoka, Champlin, Dayton, Ramsey and St. <br />Francis. The event would be modeled after the City of Fridley's Home Remodeling & <br />Garden Fair. Staff is requesting the allocation of $1,500 for the City of Ramsey's portion <br />of the start-up costs including rental of the armory building in Anoka. Ms. Sherman <br />stated that staff is anticipating recovering some or most of the money invested. The <br />Chamber of Commerce has pledged its support for the event, and has agreed to manage <br />the money from the participating cities, accept vendor registrations, answer telephone <br />questions regarding the event, and redistribute the money remaining after all bills are paid <br />to the participating cities. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />recommend Council approve the use of $1,500 from the 1999 EDA Donations Budget for <br />an Anoka Area Home Remodeling Show. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman, <br />Beahen and Haas Steffen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Authorization to Make Application for Patrol Officers Through <br />Universal Hiring Grant (FASTCOPS) <br /> <br />Police Chief Gustafson stated that the City has received the 1999 Universal Hiring <br />Program Additional Officer Request form. He noted that Ramsey has utilized this <br />program to hire three patrol officers over the past four years. He explained that the <br />Federal Government authorizes a grant of $75,000 to help defray wage costs for each <br />officer hired under this program.
