Discussion ensued relating to the need for more people to staff two or three stations as opposed
to one.

Chief Kapler stated that if it comes to the point where the Department is not getting enough
people and the citizens would not receive the type of service they should, then this issue should
be reviewed again.

Ms. Waite Smith talked about the advertising in the Ramsey Resident and added that more
advertising could be done. She pointed out that the new resident packets are another resource to
make people aware of the recruitment. Brochures at the City's community events would also be
a good way to advertise.

The Fire Board agreed that the Nicotine-Free Policy should remain in effect but if there comes a
time when recruitment is so Iow that it will affect the service the citizens receive, the policy will
be revisited.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Boardmember Lewandowski to adjourn the
meeting.

Motion carried.
