<br />-I <br /> <br />Mr. Sathe stated they will also interview people in the community to make them feel part of <br />the process. <br />7. Mr. Sathe indicated the city manager hired in the City of I-libbing was successfuL J\.1r. <br />Albrecht indicated the placement at the City of Carver did not go well. They should have <br />ensured there was a good relationship; there was a coolliet bct\\iccn the cit)' manager that was <br />hired and the city clerk. The city clerk may not have been close enough to the process. <br />8. Some orthe city managers placed by Sathe Executive Search are still there from 10 years ago. <br /> <br />Follow-up question: How often do you see the same candidates back in the same pool? <br /> <br />Mr. Sathe replied the candidates are only placed back in the pool if they volunteer to come back; <br />they do not call them back. <br />Mr. Albrecht explained this is another reason Sathe Executive Search docs not specialize in city <br />manager searches; they will not recruit from past clients. <br /> <br />9. Me Sathe asked how the last city manager did. If lhe Council could improve on that <br />manager what would they look for. and what would be different \\lith the city manager they <br />want to hire? Mayor Gamec replied this is something they will need to look at more. <br /> <br />Mr. Sathe asked what the City's population is. Mayor Gamec replied the population IS <br />between 23,000 and 25,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Sathe asked \vhat the biggest challenge will be for the new city administrator. <br />Councilmember Jeffrey indicated the City is dealing with rapid gro\\lh and the housing <br />market. Councilmember Elvig noted the challenge on outer ring cities of the urban/rural mix. <br />He ..vould add the commercial/retail service to this. Council member Strommen commented <br />on the management of the vision for the gro\\'th and communicating that to the public. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Look commented there is a massive difference bet\veen the profit Sathe <br />Executive Search will make with other searches in comparison to municipal searches. <br /> <br />Mr. Sathe explained he likes doing city searches. It is not a big part of their business as far as the <br />percentage, but he loves \vorking \vith city councils. They also work with nonprofits, which they <br />include in the same group as cities. <br /> <br />Closing Comments from Mayor <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec thanked Mr. Sathe and Mr. Albrecht for their time.
