September 10, 1998 Peltzer Park <br />October 9, 1998 Rum River North Park <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum suggested increasing meeting attendance by inviting the residents to a cook <br />out prior to an evenings Commission discussion. Mr. Boos stated resident participation could <br />also be discussed during the March meeting. Chairperson Cook stated the Lions picnic at Central <br />Park has a large turnout and suggested having the Park Commission booth setup to answer <br />resident questions at that time. <br /> <br />Case/t6: Designate Lawful Gambling Improvement Program <br /> <br />Mr. Boos reported there were no applications for the Lawful Gambling Improvement Program. <br />He suggested the Commission consider inviting Peltzer Park area residents to organize a project <br />in their area as part of the survey. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe stated the Lawful Gambling Improvement Program could be advertised <br />during the Environmental EXPO and suggested postponing the deadline until after the EXPO. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Droegemueller, seconded by Commissioner Rolfe, that the Lawful <br />Gambling Improvement Program Fund remain open for 1998. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Droegemueller, Rolfe, Asfahl, Johns, <br />and Ostrum. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner LaMere. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />A) Update on Comprehensive Plan Process <br /> <br />Mr. Boos provided an update on the Comprehensive Plan update process. <br /> <br />B) Note Anoka County Parks Agenda <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission noted the Anoka County Parks agenda dated February 3, <br />1998. <br /> <br />Other <br /> <br />Commissioner Droegemueller inquired if a decision had been made regarding Anoka's request for <br />a $4,000 contribution towards their new City pool. Mr. Boos indicated no decisions had been <br />made as of yet and indicated this item would be further discussed during the March meeting. Mr. <br />Kapler stated Council had adopted a budget which did not include the $4,000 contribution for the <br />Anoka pool. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/February 12, 1998 <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
