Case/t3: Lawful Gambling Improvement Program Update

Mr. Boos stated staff has updated the Lawful Gambling Improvement Program with the exception
of the submission deadline. He reported one survey had indicated an interest in becoming involved
but, unfortunately, the name was not included. Chairperson Cook suggested the newsletter article
include mention of that and ask them to contact.the City.

Case #4: City of Anoka's Community Pool Request

Mr. Boos reported that the Council addressed the status of Anoka's Pool funding request at their
March 10, 1998 meeting and have decided that funding will come from the Lawful Gambling Fund.
He noted the total dollars remaining and that it is not a major impact to the Fund balance.

Mr. Boos announced that on April 8 and April 13, tentatively, meetings will be held at the Anoka
Electric Cooperative facility regarding the tree planting grant mentioned in the survey. He noted this
will present another opportunity to solicit volunteers for tree planting, work at Peltzer Park, and
advertise the availability of the Lawful Gambling Fund for park projects.

Case #5: Determine Park Dedication for Business Park 95, 7th Addition

Mr. Boos explained that the City is in the process of planning two additional lots in Business Park
95. Both lots have businesses waiting to begin construction of their facility. He reviewed the
Planning Commission case and noted that the sketch plan shows Radium Street terminating half-way
between McKinley Street and County Road #116. This is due to the fact that the City isn't certain
whether Radium Street will continue on to intersect with County Road #116 or traverse west from
the terminus shown to Unity Street.

Mr. Boos reviewed past Park and Recreation Commission determination that there was no need for
any land dedication but there is a need for a transportation trail on the south side of County Road
#116 to the City limits to connect with a trail the City of Anoka will ultimately construct. Mr. Boos
noted that once the Ramsey trail is constructed to the City boundary, it may be appropriate to
approach the City of Anoka about the timing of their trail construction.

Motion by Commissioner Asfahl, and seconded by Commissioner LaMere, to recommend the Council
authorize the construction of an eight foot path from Sunfish Lake Boulevard to the easterly City
boundary with appropriate landscaping concurrent with Radium Street's extension and to recommend
park dedication for the 7th addition consist ora cash payment to the Marble Recreation District.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Asfahl, Droegemueller, and Johns. Voting
No: None. Absent: Commissioners Johns, Ostrum, and Rolfe.

Park and Recreation Commission/March 12, 1998
Page 7 of 9
