Case #6: Community Park and Apple Ridge Subdivision

Mr. Boos distributed the plat plan of Apple Ridge 5th Addition and noted the revisions to the streets.
He explained the Commission dealt with the park dedication issue several times to determine whether
they wanted cash park dedication or to require a park within the Apple Ridge 5th Addition. In all
cases, the Commission asked the Council to continue to pursue Community Park #5 versus a tot lot.
Mr. Boos reported that a purchase agreement had been set but development didn't occur within that
time frame. He explained the timing for the next phases of Apple Ridge 5th Addition and anticipation
that it will be considered very soon.

Mr. Boos stated if the Commission desires this park, they should consider a motion to ask the Council
to pursue acquisition of Community Park #5. He noted this will also keep the lines of communication
open with the property owner.

Chairperson Cook stated the Commission is aware of the importance of a community park in this
area, especially since Apple Ridge Addition is moving forward. Mr. Boos noted there may not be
adequate funding at this time but, perhaps, negotiation can occur including a first right of refusal
option.

Motion by Commissioner Droegemueller, seconded by Commissioner Asfahl, to continue to pursue
acquisition of Community Park #5 and encourage the Council to continue posthaste.

Motion carried.
