Other <br /> <br />Mr. Boos requested a Commissioner volunteer to act as a spokesperson and do a follow-up on <br />cable after each summer Park Board meeting which would be held outdoors. Commissioner <br />LaMere volunteered to give the May, 1998, Park Board Meeting update on cable. <br /> <br />Commissioner Droegemueller inquired on the proposed Community Center. Mr. Boos indicated <br />Mayor Gamec would be assigning a Task Force to research the Community Center. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos indicated receiving a letter regarding needed repair of the boardwalk at Fox Park. He <br />stated a contractor will be out to do additional repairs to the storm damaged board walk on May <br />15, 1998. <br /> <br />Commissioner Droegemueller questioned the timing of the infield sod at Alpine Park. Mr. Boos <br />indicated that would be occurring during the week of May 18th, along with seeding. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated there is $35,000 available in the Marble Recreation District and staff.would ask <br />City Council to consider a reallocation from the Marble Recreation District for trees and a fall <br />planting of Alpine Park. Commissioner Droegemueller suggested the Park Commission institute a <br />program where residents are encouraged to donate funds for the purchase of trees at Alpine Park <br />and note in the Ramsey Resident. He indicated the Baseball Association may be willing to <br />contribute towards the tree fund. Mr. Boos noted funds received could possibly be considered for <br />matched dollars by the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated the importance of continuing discussions regarding the Lawful Gambling <br />Improvement Program and Alpine Park status. He indicated both topics would be discussed <br />during the June meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos gave an update on the area parks. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Ostrum and seconded by Commissioner Asfahl to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Ostrum, Asfahl, Droegemueller, <br />Johns, and LaMere. Voting No: None.
