Commissioner Rolfe stated that the Commission could remind them that their help is a charitable <br />contribution. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Johns asked for a timeline. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe replied that there would be more specific information at the next meeting. <br />This issue (organizing a community-built playground task force) should be an agenda item. As <br />there are so many members missing from this meeting, it needs to be discussed further. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos replied that this issue would become a budget request for the year 1999. <br /> <br />Case/45: Determine Ramsey Resident Article for the July/August Issue <br /> <br />Mr. Boos indicated that the action requested by the Commission is to determine a subject for the <br />June Ramsey Resident Newsletter. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Johns suggested that Alpine Park would be an appropriate subject. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere added that a ribbon-cutting ceremony is merited for Alpine Park. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe suggested that, in the newsletter article, mention should also be made <br />advertising a community-built playground project. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated that the next regular Commission meeting would be held at a park different than <br />tonight's meeting at Central Park. He will not be attending that meeting, but will provide a <br />detailed drai~ of the CIt'. If an additional meeting is scheduled in July, he will be there, and can <br />then modify the draft. He asked if he could submit an article to the newsletter suggesting a <br />ribbon-cutting ceremony. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe asked if Mr. Boos could also advertise the community-built playground <br />project in the newsletter, separate from his article. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos replied that we need City Council approval prior to any advertising. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere asked if City Council could invite the public to the Alpine Park ribbon- <br />cutting ceremony. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated this is a good idea, and the newspaper could take pictures of the event. <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere asked about directional signage in Alpine Park. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos agreed that this needs to be completed. <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/June 11, 1998 <br /> Page 10 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
