To date, we have spent $68,000 <br />on a project with an $89,000 budget. The third alternative would be to do nothing and settle for a <br />well with lesser pumping capacity. The project engineer is recommending blasting the well. Mr. <br />Jankowski asked the Committee to concur with the re-blasting of the well, however, there are no <br />guarantees that this will work. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen stated she would agree to that, however, she did not want the <br />added money that would be spent to postpone the water tower. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski felt that the City needs the water source more than it needs the storage at this <br />point in time. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />recommend that Council authorize expending the additional $8,000 to re-blast Well No. 4 and <br />that if it should exceed $98,000, staff will bring that back for discussion. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Haas Steffen and Zimmerman.
