opportunity to do a speed study. Mr. Jankowski stated that in his opinion, the site
distance, accident count, and traffic volume does not warrant a stop sign at 144th and
Tungsten Way.

Mayor Gamec suggested that a new traffic count be done between the hours of 7:00 a.m.
and 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Jankowski stated he would gather more information and report back to the Road and
Bridge Committee at their December meeting. That will also give the petitioner another
opportunity to be present for the discussion.

COMMITTEE INPUT

Mr. Jankowski stated that the bid for Project #98-21 (extension of sewer and water across
Ramsey Blvd. into Section 28) has been awarded. Ramsey has received permission from
Anoka County to open cut Ramsey Blvd. However, we are nmning into problems
because bituminous plants are closing down for the season and we may not be able to do
the project now unless we pour a temporary concrete patch. The City will save $17,000
by open cutting versus bore and jacking the lines under Ramsey Blvd., but the contractor
would like to proceed with the project this Fall. Mr. Jankowski stated that if he can't find
a bituminous plant that is still open, he may be calling the Committee for permission to
bore and jack versus open cut.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting of the Road and Bridge Committee adjourned at 6:02 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Sylvia Frolik
Zoning Administrator

City Engineer
