Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beahen, Beyer and <br />Haas Steffen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS/PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Case #1: 1998 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that we have approximately $75,000 in CDBG funds. That <br />figure includes the funds for 1996, 1997, and 1998. Funds must be allocated this year so we <br />don't lose any. Ms. Frolik mentioned a project that these funds could be used for which is <br />installing curb cuts to comply with ADA standards. That project would cost about $14,000. She <br />suggested that Council may also want to save some of these funds for senior housing. We have <br />until December 31, 1999, to encumber these funds. (Site improvements or land acquisition - we <br />have until December 1999 to sign contracts.) <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:32 p.m. in order to <br />conduct the public hearing. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that the City had received the following requests: <br /> <br />1) Community Emergency Assistance Program $3,000 <br />2) Rise $3,000 <br />3) Family Life Center $5,000 <br />4) NSCAH (North Suburban Consumer Advocacy) $1,000 <br />5) North Anoka Meals on Wheels $3,733 <br /> <br />City Council/January 13, 1998 <br /> Page 4 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
